The class begins softly and ends in radical movement phrasing. The goal is for each person to have a unique, imperfect dance experience through a hybrid of yoga, release, modern, and improvisational dance techniques. Specifically, tailbone initiation, efficient transfer of weight and falling, inversions, and alignment will be of focus. Each phrase from our warm-up, adagio, and floor passes accumulate into a combination that we can embody fully by the end. At times we will consciously disassemble the structure to play with dynamic punch, sensuality, and surprise to highlight that particular day’s energy as a group.
